Connecting...: Lay Readers

Lay Readers or Lectors take part in the Sunday worship services by reading one of the first or second lessons from Scripture aloud.

Currently, during the 8:00 AM service, one lector reads the first lesson, leads the psalm (usually said in unison with the congregation) and then reads the second lesson.  At 10:15 AM, there is a different lector for each of the lessons, and the psalm is led by the choir.

Lectors are encouraged to read their selection during the week in order to practice unfamiliar words and understand the pacing and rhythm of the piece.

There is training for lectors on a regular basis.  Please contact Germaine Bergeron-Lynn if you are interested in participating in this ministry.
