"One of the first things I noticed about Good Sam was that people were excited to greet people. These people genuinely care about each other, I thought. I like that! And I love Fr. Chris. I like that he is personable, well-read and energetic. He has a lovely family, his faith is so clear, and his sermons are so well thought-out."

“In 1988, I came to Good Sam with my brother- and sister-in-law. I felt welcomed at Good Sam. It fed a spiritual need in me, and a need for community.”

“I want to raise Zane so that he feels welcomed in church. That church is a holy, warm, homey, personal place – a sanctuary. I think here at Good Sam our children can bridge the distance between themselves and God.”

“It’s a wonderful parish. There’s a core group of families that have been a wonderful group of friends and support system. We grew up together and raised our kids together. Now we are all grandparents!”
Morgan Hall (member since 2004):
“I came out last May, and was driving around. I liked University City, and was looking for a house here. I remember going to Good Sam one Sunday – it was Armed Forces day or something. The Military were being honored that day. Several of the parishioners were in full uniform. In fact, one of them gave the sermon that day – a very good one. I was impressed! Also, it meant a lot to me to have met Thelma Gray – she was greeting that day.”
His wife Debra adds: “Yes, we even got a card from her and Ann Carlton welcoming us to Good Sam.”

“You know, we were shopping for a church. Especially after we adopted Joseph. We really felt the need to attend church and raise him in a Christian community… We like the liturgy, the music, the thoughtfulness and warmth.”

“The choir brought me family – just like the whole congregation did. This church is different, I could tell from the beginning – no one is pretentious, they’re themselves.”
