Farewell for Patty Stewart and  Fr. Dominic

Patty Stewart’s and Fr. Dominic’s Newman ministry ends this month.

Patty is retiring but will remain a part of the community. Fr. Dominic will be taking a year of sabbatical.

He’ll attend the Good Sam 9:30 am service on Sunday, June 25.

You’re also welcomed to come to the Newman Center’s 12:30 pm Mass that day and/or the reception afterwards.

If you write a card, you might include a fond memory.

Patty would prefer no gifts, but Fr. Dominic would welcome monetary gifts to help him with his sabbatical travels.

News from NEWMAN CENTER

From Fr. Dominic

Fr. Hightower has been asked to take the place of a sick Jesuit priest in Montana, so Fr. Joaquin “Boom” Martinez will instead be our new director after I leave at the end of this month. He is eager to serve this community, and I’m working with him via phone and email to orient him. God continues to provide for us!

From Fr. Martinez

A new school year always brings with it the promise of fresh and exciting new things.  I hope this year is no different, and I am very excited to be joining the Newman Center community as the new director.

I am finishing up a sabbatical in Manila, Philippines, working in a Jesuit parish and spending some time with my family.  My previous assignment was in Rome, working with the Jesuit Refugee Service as the International Education Coordinator, managing our educational outreach to refugees and internally displaced people in 26 countries.

I am very much looking forward to meeting all of you. God bless.
