A Message For You

WELCOME:

“…That Jesus may dwell in us, and we in him.”

These are words spoken during the central ritual of our church service, the ritual of Holy Communion, also known as The Holy Eucharist or The Lord’s Supper. This is the ritual that has been present in the church from the beginning and remembers Jesus’ gathering for a meal with his disciples before his death.

“…That Jesus may dwell in us, and we in him.”

These words from that ritual speak of why it is we come together as a community at Good Samaritan Episcopal Church; we come together with the understanding, expectation and experience that the Risen Jesus continues to gather with his disciples, those who follow him even today. This Risen Jesus gathers with his followers in the Word of The Bible, spoken and proclaimed. This Risen Jesus gathers with his followers in the Communion service as we eat the Bread and drink the Wine. This Risen Jesus gathers with his followers in and through the face of the neighbor seated next to you.

“…That Jesus may dwell in us, and we in him.”

In this presence of Jesus we profess that something mysterious and profound can occur, that we can dwell in the presence of the God of Creation and God will dwell within us. This mystery gives us the courage, the strength and the conviction to walk into our week, into our lives knowing that God goes with us. We are never alone.

So, WELCOME. And no matter where you are in your life; no matter where you are in your journey with God; no matter what you may be feeling about “church” and are just shopping around you are WELCOME to journey with us into the great mystery of God’s presence. And today, we thank you for allowing us to be a part of your journey. Call us if we can help you in any way.

         WELCOME
