We serve by helping the outside community (see Community Outreach for opportunities to help), and we serve in church in a variety of ways. The list below is just a few of the ways you can participate in the life of the church.
Other ways to participate in church life include joining one of our groups (see Community Life), or becoming an usher, or a greeter.
Lay Readers or Lectors take part in the Sunday worship services by reading one of the first or second lessons from Scripture aloud.
Our goal is to glorify the Lord and His creation through flowers. We take turns doing the weekly flower arrangement which is behind the altar. We also all work together to decorate the church for Christmas and Easter.
Altar Guild
The Altar Guild assists the clergy, especially the rector, who is the head of the guild. Our practical duties center around the altar, which is the center of the church. We make sure it is vested with care.
Wedding Guild
Since the celebration of a Christian Marriage is one of the most significant sacraments in the church and is a solemn, public covenant between the loving couple, we believe at Good Samaritan that we have a responsibility to help with the preparations for these joyous occasions when our church is used.
