Service Opportunities for Youth & Children

Operation Christmas Child In collaboration with the Outreach Ministry, children and families will compile care packages to send around the world with Operation Christmas Child.

Diocesan Mission Trip Annual Diocesan Mission Trip. Past projects include a trip to the Navajo Reservation in Arizona focusing on repairing homes for elders and members of the community in need; a trip to Los Angeles to serve in the inner city.  Summer 2015 we will take a trip to Tijuana to build housing with Amor Ministries.

Build A Miracle Inspired and coordinated by our youth in 2014, our parish (young and old) built and furnished a home for a family in Tijuana.  We are scheduled to build another home this year starting on Saturday, January 10th – mix concrete to pour the pad; Sunday, February 1st – install insulation, metal lathe and drywall; Saturday, February 28th – paint and assemble furniture.

Sunday Servers (ages 10-18) Youth (ages 10-18) are invited to help lead weekly worship as acolytes (altar servers), readers, and ushers.

Additional Service Projects Throughout the year our youth participate in many other service opportunities such as helping at St. Marks in City Heights, the Episcopal Church Center in Ocean Beach, and at the Christian Community Service Agency (CCSA) in Clairemont.
