Sunday School

People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them.  When Jesus saw this, he was indignant.  He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.  I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."  And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them. -- Mark 10:13-16

Sunday School is at 9:15 AM between the morning services. There is no Sunday School during the summer.

Go to the bottom of this article for locations of most of the classrooms.

Ages 3-5 Catechesis of the Good Shepherd meets in the classroom by the worship center’s office area.

Ages 6-8, 9-11 Split into two classes, the younger Godly Play group meets in Room 1 on the second floor of Roetter Hall, while the older class meets in Rooms 2 and 3 downstairs (to the left as you walk into the hall).

The Godly Play and Catechesis programs are based on Montessori Religious Education and use hands-on, child-centered approaches.  Both programs address the spiritual and developmental ages of the students.

Middle School: Rite 13 meets in Room 7 in Roetter Hall. This program assists middle school students as they take the first steps away from the role they have played in their families and into some new roles.

The Rite 13 program is designed to foster, nourish, and support spirituality and to help middle school students to live out faith in their relationships. Prayer and discussions that follow the lessons reinforce the essential principals of our Episcopal faith.

High School: Journey to Adulthood meets in Room 4 in Roetter Hall.  This program blends action, thought and discussion to guide young people into faithful living. Journey to Adulthood builds upon the Rite 13 curriculum and gives high school students the tools, such as self-assertion and Christian leadership skills, to live out biblical and scriptural truths in their everyday lives.
