but the disciples
rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant.
He said to them,
"Let the little children come to me,
and do not hinder them,
for the
kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
I tell you the truth, anyone
who will not receive the kingdom of God
like a little child will never
enter it."
And he took the children in his arms,
put his hands on them
and blessed them.
There are many opportunities for your child to learn more about their faith. We send monthly Christian Education emails that will tell you more about Godly Play, re:form, and other offerings for children and youth. Please email Rev. Rebecca Edwards to sign up.
All children are welcome!
During the Service:
Ages 2 and under
Children play under supervision from a licensed caretaker in our chapel. The chapel can also function as a cry room. Parents don't miss a moment as the service is piped into the chapel.
Ages 3-10
Children ages 3-10 are invited to Godly Play every week during the first part of our Sunday-morning service. A few minutes after the
service starts, we will introduce our storytellers, who will lead the
children to the Godly Play rooms. Both rooms are right around the corner
and down the hall from the sanctuary. Parents will stay in church for
the scripture readings and sermon, and the children will re-join us at
the Peace.
Godly Play focuses on the emerging spirituality of the child, and each Sunday we create a safe space where children can explore the mysteries of God through Biblical stories and wonder about the presence of God in our world.
After Church Education:
While parents deepen their spiritual growth during the adult education sessions after church, the children get another chance to learn more about their God.
Ages 3-10
"Wheel" activities will focus on activities children can do in outreach to others. A previous activity included "Covers With Love", a project to sew blankets for children living with cancer.
The Wheel room is in Roetter Hall, located on the lower level left of the main entrance near the playground.
Ages 10-13
Our new "re:form" curriculum helps young people explore the Bible, discipleship, tough questions and more, using fun videos and activities.
Re:form meets in the Nursery Room in the main church building, at the end of the hall by the restrooms.
Good Sam Youth (High School)
Our Good Sam Youth gathers for faith sessions and fun activities such as Confirm Not Conform, Impossible Games, and other social and community events.
The Youth Room is upstairs in Roetter Hall.
