Youth Group: Impossible Games

Impossible Games...

This program exposes an individual’s personal power, problem solving and creative thinking skills.

The activities and discussions are designed to challenge youth to look at what they believe and how that plays in the world today.

The Good Sam youth group will meet once a month to explore this program.

Each session is composed of an activity, object lesson or both. These activities are designed to encourage youth to talk about the issues in their lives and understand the dynamics of social interaction, peer pressure, personal power and responsibility.

Some of the activities are designed to be unfair, unequal, and misleading. These may generate feelings of disappointment, failure, frustration, and anger. These contrived situations create a real opportunity to explore the coping skills that the youth have and empower them to understand and cope with the reality of living in this unfair world.

Many of the activities are physical. If your youth has medical/physical limitations, let the youth group leaders know.

If noise is an issue, please know that there may be loud, popping balloons and air compressors.

Should your youth have issues with the program, or is unhappy in the situations that challenge them to think and cope, please let Paul Phillips know.  Usually youth enjoy the opportunity to out-think a situation.

Some issues may be emotional and we expect all who participate to respect each person’s right to have emotions and express them.
